Luke and the Jelly Bean Jar

Last Friday Molly, Hayley, Kari, Luke and I went to the last of the Harry Potter parties at Barnes and Noble. We were joined by Mary Beth, Mike, Shaelyn AND Jill, Emily and Andrea. Also ran into Richard and Christina It was wonderful. At 12:01 a.m. on the 21st of July, 2007 the 7th and final Harry Potter went on sale. ...We had 3 hours to hang. Of course we had coffee but only 2 trips thru the LONG line. The rest of the time was spent at our multiple tables sipping our coffee and chatting, and taking turns perusing the sale tables. Great buys were had for $2. Some of the finds caused all sorts of laughs, discussion and you've- got- to- be -kidding comments! I had 2 favorites. Born to Be Bad (a blank journal for your confessions).... and a terriffic paint your own Renaissance Masters. Canvases and paint included-$2. Some very lucky people will receive one of my masterpieces.

The night is about to come to a close. All the kids events are wrapping up and making final announcements of winners for different contests. You got it. Luke comes walking up to our table with this huge jar of jelly beans. He'd won the jelly bean counting contest!!! The jar count was 1,365, Luke's count- 1,364. Who does that? Wow!! Congratulations Luke! According to Kari Luke agreed to keeping and eating the beans and Kari would become the proud owner of the jar.
